Your resume is an important, but easily overlooked, part of your business school application. After reading your resume, MBA admissions officers should have a clear understanding of your work experience, career progression, and educational accomplishments. In most cases, a business school application resume should summarize your entire professional and academic background in a single page (a traditional curriculum vitae might be longer).
Below is an example of an MBA admissions resume sent to us by an actual applicant, along with our comments. In this example, we show what a typical first-round and second-round MBA resume evaluation might look like. We've changed some key details to protect the applicant’s identity, but beyond that, what you see here are his own words. In addition to the sample resume evaluation, we’ve included the preferred resume formats of eight top business schools. Feel free to structure your own resume after one of these example resumes.
Remember that every MBA application resume is unique and must be in your own words to be effective. We hope that you can use the resume examples contained here to help you create your own resume for your business school application. Good luck! |
